These smash burger tacos combine the best of both worlds – juicy smashed beef patties and crispy taco shells topped with cheese, pickles, and a creamy sauce. An easy and viral twist on a classic!
In a small bowl, mix all sauce ingredients until smooth. Set aside.
Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and roll into loose balls. Season with salt and pepper.
Heat skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Place a tortilla on the hot surface, then top with one beef ball. Smash it down thin using a spatula or burger press to cover most of the tortilla.
Cook for 2–3 minutes until the beef is browned and crusty, then flip and immediately top with a slice of cheese. Cook another 1–2 minutes until cheese melts and tortilla is crisp.
Remove from skillet and top with shredded lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and a generous drizzle of smash sauce.
Serve immediately while hot and crispy!
Notes
You can prep the smash sauce and toppings in advance to save time. For added heat, toss in a bit of hot sauce or sliced jalapeños!
