  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6 pieces Hawaiian rolls sliced into thick pieces
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp butter for frying
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup for serving
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar optional, for dusting

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Heat a frying pan or griddle over medium heat and add butter to coat the surface.
  • Dip each slice of Hawaiian roll into the egg mixture, coating both sides. Allow any excess liquid to drip off.
  • Place the dipped rolls onto the heated pan or griddle. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy on the outside.
  • Remove from the pan and serve immediately with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

This Hawaiian Roll French Toast is rich and sweet, so no need for heavy toppings. A drizzle of syrup is perfect, but you can also top it with fresh fruit or whipped cream for extra indulgence!
